MAPPED
status: drafting
genre: YA urban fantasy

Almost every member of the Chase family has Marks - tattoo-like lines running up their arms that move and swirl with heir thoughts.  They have one purpose: tracking down targets marked for death.  The family has been assassins since the dawn of time, born and bred to hunt and kill anyone they are pointed at.

Mari Chase's Marks are different from the rest of her family's.  They hurt her, giving her bruises up and down her arms and causing nightmares that leave her an insomniac.  Her parents say the pain will go away when she begins tracking, but she still worries that she'll always be the anomaly of the family.

The day before her seventeenth birthday, however, the Hunters come to visit.  Another family with Marks, designed to always find their target.  Then, Mason Hunter accidentally grabs her arm and their Marks react like fireworks.  With every touch, her Marks pinch her less and her nightmares fade.  Its a miracle that they both can't stop experiencing.

Until her first track goes terribly wrong.  Until the Wards, the last family and the leaders, show up.  Until everything comes crashing down on her again.

THE GAME

Ever since world peace has been instilled, the population has had nothing to amuse them but The Game, a television competition where four teenagers race through virtual realities in search of the Last Door, and the eternal fame that comes with it.

Gloria has had the fortune of being chosen as a contestant, and is pitted against three others, each with their own strengths. But as each world gets harder and harder, she and her fellow competitors realize that the race is becoming more sinister the farther they go. Men that transform into monsters, shadows stalking them, and creatures that are trying to kill them; all things that are not supposed to be programmed into The Game.

When Gloria meets Ty, another teenager that's been Inserted, she learns some terrifying secrets about what is happening to The Game, and the competition for fame becomes a race for survival. Strange things are happening around her, and it all seems to come back down to the misshapen shadows that keep popping up. What is really going on within the Codes of The Game?

status: outlining
genre: YA urban fantasy

Seventeen-year-old Scarlet Summers was executed 40 years ago for brutally killing her family and neighbor.

She didn't die.  Turns out, a demon made her do it, and now that demon is gone, exorcised for some reason.  Scarlet is left with a business card to "Daddy Longleg's Apocathary" and some left-over demonic powers to help her fight evil or something.  All she knows is that she's supposed to help some demon-hunter's son, Mason, stop the apocalypse with the help of a feral fallen angel and her mentor.

Oh, and the demon who manipulated her into murdering the only people she loved has come back from the depths of Hell to assist Scarlet in re-murdering her loved ones and permanently trap Satan in Hell.  Probably.
